I woke up yesterday morning to be welcomed by the usual, what I call “the morning flu”, well the usual morning flu that lasts till I step out of the shower. The bad news was, this specific one was here to stay for a while at least, considering i am still hanging out with a box of tissue.

Yesterday night was a nightmare too, I had a nasty headache, thanks to my phone rigging and my little brother bulging into my room to ask me some silly questions. Anyway I am getting better now, after literally overdosing myself with a lot of fluids.

My day today is ruined because I can’t do anything productive with a running nose and a disoriented self, I hardly can even think.

Do you happen to hang out in star bucks, Macdonald’s or around a public library where internet browsing is actually free? Well I do, considering it gives me the opportunity to get some fresh air and a chance to check out what the world has to offer.

But beware, it comes at a price, a hidden one !! Free as it may sound, it is an unsecured network, and an idiot browsing the same network could sniff the traffic for passwords and confidential information. This is not funny at all because you could become a victim.

So how do I secure myself from such idiots, who think they have the right to steal and use my information, because I happen to like free surfing?

I use Tor. Tor helps me anonymize my web browsing and publishing, instant messaging, IRC, SSH, and other applications that use the TCP protocol.

It also comes bundled with an application named “Privoxy”, which prevents my computer from automatically sending personal information to websites.

Well so how much does it cost? Well everything comes at a price, and Tor certainly does come with a price too. It does cost me time because it is slow. It is slow because WebPages are transmitted through several servers around the world to get to the computer of the user.

You can download Tor from http://tor.eff.org/download.html.en . So Beware of free wifi hotspots, you have been warned.

If you want to know the real Malaysian, visit their clubs and you would surely be welcomed with cultural shocks from their intriguing attitudes and well their supposed friendliness too. You might be wondering what I mean by this, but allow me to introduce Malaysian Clubs to you. There are few types, which I would try to describe as best as I can, as I re-encounter my experience.

The continental grand hotel club, which I would call a Type A, old peoples club(for age 25 upwards), usually they have salsa or stage performance to hit the dancing floor with. The “older women” are always excited to dance with the younger men, and if you happen to be one, and you can dance and make them feel young with your sugar coated vibes, you would surely have a good time.

I don’t regular at the club A type of clubs except of course on invitation. I usually go with my “older salsa loving friends, ladies of course, who drag me on with them, but the good thing about this type of clubs is, you get to meet the mature good looking, working class type of ladies to “spot on”, here I mean appreciate, so don’t get the wrong idea. I love those kind of clubs for one reason, the setting been just right, but sadly I hardly meet people my age there.

Now before you start getting all excited about the club A type of clubs, let me introduce you to Club B type, the rich kids club.

Although I am not rich, but this is the type of club, rich kids or young rich men hang out in. An example would be a place called Velvet. Well this type of club is more of a bar, because you hardly see people dancing or actually having a good time. They are all stuck up with supposed “civility” that they hardly can groove their behinds for a dance move.

So I guess they choose the easy escape, they seat, with their lady or guy friends and chit chat about things that I would say excites them, whilst sipping their highly priced “booze”.

In such type of clubs, you would notice lonely lady crowds so into the music, yet of course sitting and chit chatting, perhaps gossiping about how handsome the guy on the other side of the corner is.

I usually visualize them fantasizing about belonging to a normal crowd, with a guy to have quality time with, but yet they cant, because they so cut up in their supposed frigid circle of existence, that doing otherwise would mean loosing their circles supposed integrity. Their friends are not so supportive too, and they can be very contradictory themselves to say the least.

And please if you find yourself in such setting, don’t waste your time to ask any of them for a dance, except of course you are really excited about a “No, I don’t think so”. At least they have the courtesy, to say no rather than “backing off” as the normality of Malaysian ladies in clubs. Yes they hardly dance with strangers.

So which clubs do I recommend you frequent? None except you have a lady friend to hang out with. Normal clubs in Malaysia such as zouk, nouvo and perhaps sugars would present to you young adults with raging hormones alright, and you might get lucky, to meet ladies who are there to have fun in the club, but don’t be alarmed if 90% of them back off rather than greet you with a polite No, if they don’t want to dance with you or converse with you.

I would recommend Sugars, if you are into hip-hop and have a lady to hang out with, but if you are into techno beats, you might want to try Zouk on saturday`s or even Nouvo. There you wouldn’t have much of a problem, but you are still advised to go with a lady, otherwise you might end up being disappointed.

Malaysian clubs can present to you the best and the worst type of atmosphere. And before I forget, allow me introduce to you, Hops & Grapes, an Irish pub, and ironically, a nest of chaos for Africans and Arabs. It is a place best known for its extreme “ghetto” style of atmosphere , you might want to try it if you are into Africans or Arabian ladies, but beware most are university students, and some might be even underage, as for me thats not a place to be. There are fist being thrown around all the time, from crazy Africans and Arabs, who think thats another way to have fun or rather they own their lady friends, I hear

And lastly stay away from beach club, except you want to run into lots of “Ashi”, i mean it. I don’t club to drink, I think bars are meant for that, hence my narration is assuming you fall into the same kind of circle. Also don’t overdress to a Malaysian club, its repelling to most Malaysian ladies. Dress simply, and eat lots of sugar, because you would need to be sweet to get one to listen to you, I think thats applicable everywhere. I am jocking with the sugar part. Just be yourself.

Blood diamonds, yes that movie is off the hook, and does deserve an award. I watched it today with a friend at the cinema. This movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, does send a morality check trigger to anybody that loves diamonds, or possesses one, or even believes that it could symbolize “love” or “bondage”.

In the movie Blood Diamonds:

Leonardo DiCaprio as a South African mercenary who’s jailed for smuggling, highlights the illegal “conflict diamond” trade during civil wars in Sierra Leone and Angola in the late 1990s.

The stones also funded armed conflicts in Angola, Liberia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Questions like, How do we for instance, differentiate between conflict diamonds and non-conflict diamonds? Is it alright for us to wear or posses diamonds that have questionable root sources? , crops into the mind of the viewer.
Ethically I for one, think that humans should boycott the buying of diamonds, considering the reality that surrounds it. I am saying this, even with the consideration that there are sources that say 99.8% of diamonds are from non-conflict zones. The authenticity of that statistical source is questionable considering it comes from the representative of the cartels.

I think, there are other gems that could symbolize love, bondage, or even madness, such as gold, for example? or perhaps the classical pearl. They are precious gems too, aren’t they?
